Josh Rock takes the title at Players Championship 10 with classy display in final against Cameron Menzies

Josh Rock has taken the title at Players Championship 10 in Leicester this Tuesday afternoon. 'Rocky' emerged victorious over Cameron Menzies in the final, 8-4.

En route to the final, the always entertaining Menzies has put in impressive performances in wins over the likes of Alan Soutar (6-5), Gabriel Clemens (6-5), Raymond van Barneveld (6-4) and then Michael Smith (7-5) in the semi-finals. Rock meanwhile, had to get past players such as Dom Taylor (6-2), Ricardo Pietreczko (6-1), Martin Schindler (6-1) and Scott Williams (7-5), notably hitting an incredible average of 110.34 against Schindler.

In the final, the first six legs all went with the throw. With the scores locked at 3-3 though, Rock pounced, taking the first break of the contest and nudging ahead at 4-3. After Menzies then missed multiple darts to break straight back, Rock eventually punished to make it 5-3 and move closer to another Pro Tour title. Moments later, a massive 138 checkout gave Rock clear daylight at 6-3. Menzies wasn't done yet though, and got back to 4-6 with a 170 checkout.
