Van Duijvenbode had already skipped some Pro Tour tournaments in recent weeks because of his shoulder injury. That this injury has not yet been resolved quickly became clear. Wade seemed to be sucked into Van Duijvenbode's level as a result.
As a result, Van Duijvenbode still had prospects of victory for some time, as the score was still 3-3 after six legs. A 21-darter by Wade gave the eleven-time major winner a 4-3 lead. Wade then easily cruised to a 6-3 victory.
