Luke Littler continues UK Open run with fifth round win over Martin Schindler

Luke Littler showed fight to take control of his fifth-round match at the UK Open against Martin Schindler and come through 10-8.

Littler averaged over 100 against the German, who gave the teenager a bit of a scare by taking the lead going into the first break, then went 5-3 up with an 11-darter. The 17-year-old fought back though to win seven of the next 10 legs and keep himself in the tournament.

"I've been given a game these last two days," Littler told ITV post-match. "As soon as I got that two leg gap I was settled. He played well, but I played well as well. "Overall it was a good game. Making it 5-5 was the big moment, going into that break."

Littler impressed again in the stats with a 101 average and 47% checkout rate. He is now the favourite for the title after Michael van Gerwen's shock exit to Mensur Suljovic on Friday evening.
