Man Lok Leung produced 11 180's and was the star of the show on a night that featured Gerwyn Price as he dumped out the rising Dutch star, Gian van Veen who in the end had no answer to the Hong Kong ace.
He came from 2-0 down having travelled thousands of miles to make his
World Darts Championship debut and next will have a certain Gabriel Clemens in his sights who reached the semi-finals twelve months ago.
“I am so happy, because I never thought I could win this match,” said Leung post match.
“I have never played in the World Championship before, so I wanted to enjoy it on the stage and show everyone what I can do.
“I have played against Gabriel in the World Cup. I know he’s a great player, but I have nothing to lose.”
But while that tie against Clemens is imminent, a Q-School tilt is not with the 24-year-old saying that in the future translated that he will consider it. But not right now based off the one result due to the financial pressure to keep making money and working back home.
"I cannot play Q-School now, because of the financial pressure to keep working to make money. But later I will think about it and to enter Q-School."
