Michael Smith responds to departure from Unicorn: "We leave on the best terms possible"

It was announced on Friday morning that a decade-long partnership between darts manufacturer Unicorn Darts and reigning world champion Michael Smith is coming to an end.
Via Twitter, Smith gave his reaction to the news. "We have been a team for the last decade. I’ve try my hardest to make it work from my first event win my first major final. then to win my first WS event then to my first major and then to leave unicorn as the reigning world champion and world number one."
"I’d say we did pretty good as a partnership and we leave on the best terms possible," he continues. "I only wish success for team at Unicorn Darts and all there players in the future moving forward."

If it is going to be done to English players, then we are more than entitled to dish the same back when players face off in England. - I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
