Mol on failing to live up to Development Tour promise at Q-School: "I expected more from it"

Dutch prospect Damian Mol failed to claim a Tour Card at PDC Q-School this past week despite moving straight through initially to the final stage.

This was due to his performances on the Development Tour with Mol finishing just behind Berry van Peer in the rankings.

"I always liked darts with a beer on the side. Then I received financial support to compete higher up. I was really close to it", says Mol to BN De Stem.

Due to his excellent performance, Mol was through to the final phase, although he had to stay in the same bubble all the time due to Covid measures and failed to live up to his prior promise.

"In the evening you talk to each other about how the day went and you go to sleep on time. But four days in a row, it will take it's toll. I expected more from it, I also had a high average in the beginning. It was a pity that I immediately lost against Danny Van Trijp on Monday, we are good friends and one immediately went out. But I am still young and in two weeks the UK Open will be in Milton Keynes."
