The PDC has nominated Jose de Sousa, Michael van Gerwen, Simon Whitlock, Peter Wright and Dave Chisnall for the Televised Performance of the Year award.
Van Gerwen has been nominated for his Semi-Final against Daryl Gurney at the UK Open. The Dutchman managed to win this match 11-3 thanks to an average of 110.32 and a nine-dart finish. Peter Wright was also nominated after averaging 110 in a match. Snakebite did this during the Premier League Darts.
Whitlock and Chisnall were nominated because they had won against Van Gerwen in an impressive way during a television tournament. Whitlock beat the Dutchman 3-0 at the World Grand Prix with a 100+ average. That is particularly high at the World Grand Prix because the legs also have to be started with a double.
Chisnall beat Van Gerwen 5-0 at the World Championship after averaging 107 and hitting fouteen 180's. The remaining nomination went to De Sousa, for his final against James Wade at the Grand Slam of Darts.
The winner will be announced at the end of January during a live show on the PDC's YouTube channel. An exact date for the ceremony has not been confirmed yet.
