Notable: no tournament win for Ross Smith, but by far the most 180-scores over recent Players Championship block

Recently, Players Championship 19 through 21 were completed. Ross Smith did not manage to win a tournament, but still had reason to cheer.
Smith has been very regular at the past three Players Championships, twice reaching the quarter-finals and once losing out in the last 16.
The 34-year-old Englishman threw a whopping 49 180s during those three tournaments, at least seven maximums more than any other player in attendance.
In second place we find Luke Humphries. 'Cool Hand Luke,' who managed to win the 20th Players Championship, threw a 180 score 42 times. The top three is completed by Callan Rydz. The 25-year-old Englishman won the nineteenth Players Championship and threw a 180 forty times spread over these three tournaments.

- I agree. There needs to be a points system and preferably just a rolling one year. World Championship should earn the most points though it can be argued that the current qualification system does see a fair few players qualify from regional country qualifiers who would struggle to hold down a place on the Pro Tour. If prize money won is going to remain as the determining factor for ranking then the World Championship should just consist of the 128 Tour Card Holders. Another option would be to take the World Championship out of the rankings and have it as the stand alone pinnacle that you qualify for by winning certain tournaments or your ranking position, sort of like a GSOD+.Mysstree05-04-2025
