Rob Cross has also withdrawn from this weekend's Czech Darts Open. Kim Huybrechts replaces him, as seed, on saturday. The Belgian should be qualified for the World Championship now.
Rob Cross has suddenly withdrawn at the last minute for the Euro Tour tournament in Prague, the Czech Darts Open handing a lifeline to Kim Huybrechts.
When the draw for the Czech Darts Open was announced Thursday afternoon, Cross' name was still on the draw. However, "Voltage" decided not to travel to the tournament in the Czech capital.
Kim Huybrechts was the next player on the reserve list and was thus asked to fill in. 'The Hurricane' additionally took Cross' spot in the draw, and is thus directly admitted to the second round, where he will meet Luke Woodhouse or Marko Kantele.
This is good news for Huybrechts with regard to the World Darts Championship. The Belgian now appears to have acquired enough prize money to return to action at Alexandra Palace in December.
