It is a new year and darts is back on our screens after a day of rest on New Years Eve. The 2021/22 PDC
World Darts Championship continues into the Quarter-Final stages with two ties this afternoon to set up the first semi-final.
It all begins with
James Wade who hasn't hit a 180 this tournament and has only played two games but finds himself in the Quarter-Finals. In a wide open quarter, it is Mervyn King who is next up.
A player who 'The Machine' has had a lot of battles with over the years, he could hold the key to Wade surging closer to his elusive first World title.
While for
Gary Anderson, he already has two in his collection and after reaching many finals in this tournament while not playing well, the same could apply here.
Anderson will next take on Luke Humphries who shined against Chris Dobey and has reached this point of the tournament twice before. He knows how to beat Anderson too being the only Premier League Contender with a victory.
'Cool Hand Luke' will look to cement his aspirations for his maiden World title by taking out one of the remaining tournament favourites.
