Sky Sports offers apology to Lauby after bad timed mistake with crowd noise

Danny Lauby played brilliantly on Thursday night as the American just missed out against Ryan Searle but it could have been so much different.

Lauby had to hit 28 to stay in the game in the fifth set against Searle but with his second attempt under double 7, cheers came from the speakers which visibly distracted Lauby.

His third attempt was then missed as a result and Searle pinned double one for the win.

Since the outbreak of Coronavirus, Sky Sports has pumped in fake crowd noise but this went completely wrong in this instance.

It was since revealed from Championship Darts Corporation (the American affiliated PDC tour) president, Peter Citera, that Sky Sports had since apologised for this instance.
