Snooker champion Ronnie O'Sullivan gives word of warning to Luke Littler: "I’d definitely choose to do things differently"

Luke Littler recently caused a sensation by reaching the final of the World Darts Championship. The 16-year-old Englishman eventually lost 7-4 to Luke Humphries, but received praise from all sides.

Littler also received an invitation to the Premier League Darts after the lost World Championship final. It will be important for the 16-year-old to keep both feet on the ground. This is also realized by Ronnie O'Sullivan, the snooker champion who himself reached high heights at a young age, but regularly faced problems away from the snooker table.

"I think if I had my time again, I’d probably take the Stephen Hendry route and just be always around an Alex Ferguson-type figure," the seven-time world snooker champion told SportBoom.com. "I’d definitely choose to do things differently. So, just keep your feet on the ground if you can and just keep good people around.”

Earlier, Gary Anderson also complained how the media is treating the new sensation. "If it goes tits up with Luke give yourselves a pat on the back. Let the boy play darts. I've been downstairs and he's got cameras, zoom calls, meetings..."

"He's had a great tournament, he's done well. What if it all goes Pete Tong now? You boys have ruined that. He's 16 years old. Keep having that boy mic'd up, doing interviews when he should be on the practice board. You've seen it a thousand times. Every year there's a boy come through,” Anderson warned.
