Springer springs shock with Van den Bergh thrashing, Clayton fights back to down Raman at International Darts Open

Dimitri van den Bergh is out at his first hurdle at the International Darts Open in Riesa as emerging German talent, Niko Springer sends the crowd into a frenzy.
It was a confident 6-1 win for Springer who pounced on Van den Bergh only hitting 1/13 of his darts at double and now the German will face off against Damon Heta tomorrow after producing a 91 average and three 180's en route to victory.
While one Premier League star didn't make it through, Jonny Clayton did but had to produce a comeback to do so against Brian Raman.
Raman was unable to cash in on an early 3-1 lead against Jonny Clayton. The Belgian missed four chances to take a 4-2 lead and saw Clayton equalize with a 60 finish. It was then 4-4 before Clayton took the win with a 16-darter and a 17-darter. The Ferret meets Dave Chisnall on Sunday afternoon in the next round.
