Sweet revenge for Michael van Gerwen as he beats Luke Littler to take Dutch Darts Masters title

Michael van Gerwen took the overall victory at the Dutch Darts Masters in Den Bosch. In an exciting and high-level final, he was too strong for Luke Littler, 8-6.

Van Gerwen started the match nicely with a 15-darter, but had to surrender his own leg in the third after failing to finish in six visits. Littler then failed to make it 3-1, after which Van Gerwen made it 2-2 with an 11-darter.

A 78 finish gave 'Mighty Mike' a 3-2 lead before Littler threw out 104 to rebalance the score with a 12-darter. Van Gerwen then threw a 16-darter to go into the break with a 4-3 lead.

After the break, Littler tried with all his might to break Van Gerwen, but Van Gerwen threw a few good finishes to keep his own legs. The Englishman's biggest chance for a break came in the thirteenth leg.

Littler had two break chances from 76, but the double 8 was missed twice. Van Gerwen then held his own leg with a 13-darter for 7-6, then threw a 12-darter into Littler's leg for the title.
