This player is on course to shatter three ProTour 180 records with 16 tournaments still to go

One player is on course to shatter three ProTour records this year and it is an expected name but not one in the higher echelons. This player is on course to throw the most 180 scores in a single season on the PDC Pro Tour.

That record is currently held by Dave Chisnall but could soon be held by Ross Smith. Smith has been known as one of the best 180-hitters on the darts circuit for several years. 'Chizzy' accounted for 433 maximum scores at all Players Championship tournaments and Euro Tour events in 2022. After eight of 13 Euro Tours and 19 of 30 Players Championship tournaments, Smith stands at 327 180-scores. The 35-year-old Englishman thus has sixteen more tournaments to improve Chisnall's record and then sharpen it considerably.

The record number of 180-scores on the Players Championship circuit alone is held by Dirk van Duijvenbode with 351. Smith will have to try hard to improve that record, as Smith stands at 190 maximum scores after nineteen Players Championship tournaments.

The Euro Tour record also appears to be going to be a tough story for the former European Championship winner. After eight of 13 Euro Tours, Smith stands at 79 maximum scores, while the record stands at 160. This record has been held by Luke Humphries since 2023. So for now, only a combined Pro Tour record seems to be in the cards for Smith.
