Van Gerwen set the mark of 123.40 in his Premier League tie against Michael Smith where he won 7-1 and achieved the world record; one that has been beaten of sorts since by Peter Wright but not on TV only on stream.
It was a golden night in itself with Phil Taylor hitting a 115.25 average to defeat Dave Chisnall 7-5 straight after but it belonged to Mighty Mike.
He eclipsed the previous mark set for Kim Huybrechts against Paul Lim under a shorter format at 4-1 so technically at the time Phil Taylor's 118.66 against Kevin Painter at the 2010 UK Open was next up.
