The
World Grand Prix 2024 will take place from Monday, Oct. 7, through Sunday, Oct. 13, at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester. In the UK, it will be broadcast on
Sky Sports. Read on for the broadcast times.
This tournament is a unique event on the PDC calendar. The World Grand Prix is the only tournament where the legs are started and ended with a double. Because of this format, the World Grand Prix is known for its surprises, with often early eliminations of big names.
The first broadcast will be on Monday, October 7, from 6 p.m. onwards. On the first two days of play, the sixteen matches from the first round will be played. They will then be played over a format of best of 3 sets.
The tournament continues on Wednesday, Oct. 9, with the second round of the World Grand Prix. There are two minor adjustments then. The broadcasts will then begin at 7 p.m., while the format will also go up slightly. Three sets will then have to be won to reach the next round.
The eight remaining players will compete in the quarterfinals on Friday, Oct. 10. In this round, the format is still best of 5 sets, meaning a player must win three sets for a spot in the final four.
On Saturday, Oct. 12, it's time for the semifinals. The broadcast will then begin at 7:30 p.m. The format for the final two rounds has gone up considerably this year. Best of 9 sets will be played in the semifinals.
The finals of the 2024 World Grand Prix will be on Sunday, Oct. 13, starting at 8 p.m. ET. The player who then wins six sets first will get to lift the cup at the end of the evening.
