Van den Bergh reveals issues with panic attacks: "At one point I even thought I had heart problems"

Dimitri Van den Bergh experienced a short dip in form just after the summer months. The 28-year-old Belgian is now back on track.

Van den Bergh went out in the opening round at the World Grand Prix and let a 9-3 lead slip away in the semi-finals of the Nordic Darts Masters against Fallon Sherrock.

"I had regular panic attacks during that period. At one point I even thought I had heart problems. So I went to the cardiologist and he reassured me that there was nothing to see," said Van den Bergh at RTL 7.

First time as a father

'The Dreammaker' will also soon become a father for the first time.

"Those panic attacks had nothing to do with that anyway. On the contrary, I'm looking forward enormously to having that little sprout in my hands."
