Van der Voort puts Wales forward as top favourite for World Cup of Darts: "They accept each other's flaws, ideal for pair matches"

The World Cup of Darts will take place in Frankfurt in the middle of next month. Wales, who lost the final to Australia last year, are considered by many to be one of the top favourites for the overall victory.

"But the World Cup of Darts will be completely different this year now that only pairs matches are played," darts commentator Jacques Nieuwlaat told Viaplay . "But Jonny and Gerwyn are both in good shape, as they have shown in recent weeks in both the Premier League and the European Tour."
Fellow darts player Vincent van der Voort sees another big plus with both Welshmen. "They accept each other's flaws and will not easily irritate each other. That has happened in the past in other countries, but will not happen in Wales."

- I agree that this season the format was a bit stale, it would be better to have some new faces rotated in through the season. - I don't really understand why its an issue that Littler doesn't play in the events, they are barely televised so there is no draw for marketing and it gives the other players a better chance to define their narratives. The events are more of a throw back to old events. - Not everyone wants to watch pub players throwing 70 averages for about ÂŁ500. Premier League is indeed a cash cow, but it does its job of promoting the game. - Laura looking fantastic and obviously has a hidden talent as a dart player. It was so nice to see her shock and joy of hitting that triple 20 I miss Laura, she was excellent and very knowledgeable regarding darts.
