Michael van Gerwen failed to win a Premier League week for the third week in a row. Mighty Mike went down 6-4 against Gerwyn Price in the quarter-finals.
Van Gerwen won both Exeter and Brighton in the Premier League in recent weeks, but things went wrong in Nottingham.
"When you're comfortably ahead 3-1, you just have to push on. But then I fall asleep a bit and played too safe. That is very careless. He did switch gears a bit, but if I keep playing well, he will still come up short. But if you throw two or three poor legs in a row, then it becomes difficult", said Van Gerwen to Viaplay.
Injury
Price said beforehand he was not 100 percent because of an injury to his hand. "Those are games, I know that too", says Van Gerwen. "After the match I told him he didn't think his hand was hurting much. But anyway, I just have to arm myself against it. I did at the start, but not after that. I'm not doing myself justice here."
