Michael van Gerwen is through to the final day at the
International Darts Open in Riesa after edging past Madars Razma in a 6-4 victory.
A story of missed doubles saw Razma hit 4/16 and not take vital chances to gain a foothold in the tie in the form of a lead after they were level up to 4-4.
But Mighty Mike came through in the end with a high checkout of 107 and in comparison 42% on the doubles. While for
Mensur Suljovic, he is also through after a clinical 11-darter against home hope Gabriel Clemens.
'The Gentle' has been in good form at times as of late and showed that with a 103.8 average as he edged through to the final day in a decider producing when it matters.
Also producing where it mattered was
Nathan Aspinall who edged past Jason Lowe and denied the latter a potential European Championship spot. He sat in 34th spot before play but lost out in a decider.
Aspinall averaged 92 with a high checkout of 116 and 42% on the doubles. This was compared to a 95 average, a high checkout of 120 and 55% on the doubles from his opponent who still didn't move through.
