Gian van Veen has added a maiden Development Tour title to victory on the Challenge Tour earlier this season and in the process has ended the run of Josh Rock.
Seeing off Rock in the final 5-4, it is now 20-1 in terms of the Northern Irishman's stellar record and keeps Van Veen well in the hunt for a Tour Card/World Championship spot.
The circuit of the PDC Development Tour will consist of 24 tournaments in 2022. Last year there was a separate tour for British and European players due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but this year both have been merged again.
At each Development Tour tournament there is a prize fund of £10,000 to be shared. A ranking is drawn up with the prize money. At the end of the season, the numbers one and two will receive an invitation to the World Darts Championship, plus a Tour Card for 2023 and 2024.
