Van Veen hits nine-dart finish and averages 108 in victory over Wattimena during Euro Tour qualifying

Gian van Veen has hit his first nine-darter on the PDC Tour. He scored his perfect leg during the qualifying tournament for the European Darts Matchplay in a match against compatriot Jermaine Wattimena.

The Dutchman threw the nine-dart finish in the fifth leg of his first-round match against 'the Machine Gun'. The leg in nine darts was thrown in the classic way via two 180s, followed by a 141 finish.

Van Veen prevailed in a high-quality affair, eventually winning the match 6-4 thanks to an average of 108. Wattimena more than held his own, averaging 104 himself.
