GRANDSLAM GP3 JAMES WADE9A
James Wade produced a demolition job on Rob Cross to win 5-2 and move into the Last 16 of the 2021 Grand Slam of Darts topping the group in the process.
Wade averaged 111.71 and he admitted despite not feeling that good going onto stage, it clicked for him.
"It's about time I turned up, like I said to someone else the preparation goes right every time and then when you look back when you lose games, the preparation is terrible but today it went alright and things seemed to slip in place when sometimes they don't," said Wade post match.
He was a lot more animated during his win and he said some feedback he received prompted a change of persona.
"Someone said to me stop being a miserable sod on stage and enjoy it when you hit big scores and enjoy it when you get some of the finishes so tonight I tried that."
"I always think I'm a huge danger, it's if I turn up and if I do what I do. I still know I can win big ones, I still know I can be a dangerous player."
