Danny Noppert scored the biggest victory of his career last Sunday by winning the UK Open to everyone's surprise. Next weekend 'The Freeze' will miss the German Darts Championship though.
Noppert was not in the top 16 of the Pro Tour rankings at the time of the cut-off, he had to enter a Tour Card qualification tournament to qualify for the Euro Tour tournament in Hildesheim. However, he did not participate in this qualification tournament because his girlfriend gave birth to their first child at that time.
The UK Open title does not mean Noppert does not have to play any more Euro Tour qualifiers in the near future. The ranking only takes into account the results of the ProTour tournaments and the Euro Tours. On this ranking Noppert is now 23rd, so he still has to play qualifications to qualify for the Euro Tour tournaments.
