Wright believes Van Gerwen has 'no chance' at World Championship

Peter Wright claimed his first win of the Grand Slam of Darts defeating Ian White with a 106 average after previously losing out to Dirk van Duijvenbode.

Wright admitted he was lucky to even get legs against Van Duijvenbode and he also discussed changing darts again for this tournament.

"Yesterday I was just rubbish and Dirk (van Duijvenbode) trounced all over me and I was lucky to get four legs to be honest. I switched to longer points for the Winter Series and they worked but they didn't work on stage yesterday. It felt like they were miles away, the darts weren't reaching the board," said Wright during post match media.

With the World Championship on the horizon, talk turned to that and for Wright, he believes that Van Gerwen has 'no chance' and that Gerwyn Price is the only one who can threaten him in his title defence.

"I'm not far away (from) being really happy. Depends where the venue is, depends if it's at Ally Pally. To be honest Gezzy would be the only one to threaten me in the tournament. He's got no chance."
