Michael Smith has pushed Daryl Gurney deeper into the relegation problems in the Premier League Darts. In Dublin it became 7-5 for Bullyboy, who became the hero of the crowd by throwing a nine-darter.
Smith hit his nine-dart finish in the fourth leg, to level the match to 2-2. Both played stayed close to each other, until the Englishman in the eleventh leg benefited from six misses on the doubles from Gurney. Smith took out 56 to break and then hit double 2 to claim the victory.
The former World Youth Championship has now five points after four matches. Gurney gets deeper into trouble with just one more point and needs victories in the coming weeks to prevent elimination.
