The qualifying race for the 2024 WDF World Darts Championship at Lakeside is drawing to a close. The cut-off for the biggest tournament at the WDF is on Monday, Oct. 28. Then it will be clear which 48 men will be allowed to compete in Frimley Green.

The field of participants consists of the top-34 WDF rankings, supplemented by four leaders of regional rankings, winners of tournaments with gold or platinum status on the WDF calendar and the four winners at the World Championship qualifying tournament.

However, there is an additional factor. Players may not compete in the WDF World Championship and the PDC World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace in the same year. With Wesley Plaisier, Ben Robb, Leonard Gates and Connor Scutt, there are four players who have qualified for both tournaments. So they will have to choose where to play. It is already clear from Plaisier that he will participate in PDC World Championship. Robb and Scutt have either previously played PDC or have played on tour this season.

As well as those names, Neil Duff who is former champion. As well as Liam Maendl-Lawrance, Matthew Edgar, Patrick Kovacs, Ryan Hogarth, Darren Johnson and former World Trophy champion Peter Machin sit within the top 34. Among those outside include Mike Gillet, Brian Raman, Raymond Smith, Aaron Turner, Alex Spellman among others with nine events to go.
