Des Jacklin has been voted back onto the BDO Board at their online meeting this past weekend, it has been revealed only weeks after leaving his post as Chairman.
Jacklin announced his resignation
just under a month ago with his tenure in the BDO seemingly over but he was voted back onto the board albeit not as the Chairman by majority decision.
It is understood that he received 66 percent of the votes from the counties; but initially declined the position due to seemingly a lack of trust; but he later reversed his decision and is now back on the BDO board.
It has been further noted that Jacklin will oversee finances; before a final decision is made on his new role at the next AGM.
Jacklin was the Chairman of the BDO during a period which saw them come under increased criticism; due to moving the World Championship to the Indigo at the O2, the World Masters fiasco; as well as a decreased prize fund for their biggest tournament of the year which saw the lowest winners' cheque in the Men's tournament since 1989.
He released a
statement detailing his tenure shortly after he resigned which is over 2,700 words only for him to now return to the organisation albeit in a seemingly smaller role.
