Ashton not at her best but through to Women's World Matchplay semi-finals, set to face De Graaf after superb Turner win

The opening two matches of the 2022 Women's World Matchplay have been concluded and have gone to the form book instead of a shock over the short format as Lisa Ashton and Aileen de Graaf will face off in the semi-finals.

Ashton was first up and prevailed albeit in a nervy display against TV debutant, Chloe O'Brien sealing a 4-0 win with a 67 average and missing 13 darts at a double but the favourite for the title will look to improve.

Or she will be heading out with De Graaf producing a statement display easing past Laura Turner 4-1 improving her impressive head to head and averaging 80 in victory.

De Graaf shook her head at her display in the opening leg but sealed an opening break and followed it up with a 177 and 97 to leave 100. She missed the chance for the ton plus checkout but De Graaf was half way to the semi-final pinning double five.

A clinical 73 checkout saw Turner get on the board with a hold. A 54 checkout though saw De Graaf go one away at 3-1 and with Turner way back, she pinned a 49 checkout to seal the deal at 4-1.
