Askew recovers from whitewash defeat to see off in-form Cole, Jenkins produces vintage display against Collins

The action continues in the MODUS Icons of Darts League with proceedings being at the half way stage for the day and two players in particular leading the way in Jason Askew and Jarred Cole.

Cole followed up his early victory over Andy Jenkins with a consecutive win over Paul Nicholson in a match where he defied a 103.4 average from 'The Asset' in the process with the 19 year old only hitting a 90 average.

Despite that though, he had more darts at double and ended up with 5/12 in the end which proved pivotal with Nicholson at 4/8. Could Cole claim his first group win today?

He made it potentially possible in facing Jason Askew but he missed a match dart en route with Askew then sitting on double six for the win which he took out. This saw Askew bounce back after a whitewash defeat to Robert Collins.

With one day to go though, Askew will be looking to build up points ahead of tomorrow's final day where he could be in a good position to claim the week.

Jenkins claimed his first win of the day in addition in style seeing off Collins in a 5-0 victory which saw 'Rocky' hit a 100 average in an impressive display.

The Icons of Darts League is a competition that runs on 24 different days from Monday April 6 through to Saturday May 2. Each playing week consists of six players. There are five players on each matchday with one player taking a rest.

Each day consists of four matches for each player with the player with the most wins claiming the group win for that day.
