This weekend, the final four tournaments of the PDC
Women's Series will be played in Wigan. Eyes will mainly be on the battle for the second World Darts Championship spot.
Lisa Ashton is the only player already sure of an invitation to the World Darts Championship. The second spot goes to
Fallon Sherrock or
Beau Greaves. Sherrock held the second spot comfortably, but had to skip the previous weekend of play in the PDC Women's Series because of World Series obligations in New Zealand. Greaves just decided to compete that weekend for the first time this season and promptly won all four tournaments, putting her right in the race.
However, Greaves is not yet third; that spot is held by Aileen de Graaf. The Dutchwoman has yet to win a tournament at the Women's Series this year, but has been in a final three times. Lorraine Winstanley currently shares fourth place with Greaves. Unlike De Graaf, Winstanley has already won a tournament.
Still, the battle seems to be primarily between Sherrock and Greaves. The already seeded Ashton may also play a role, because she also competes in Wigan. Greaves is currently 1,800 pounds behind Sherrock. Since the winner of each tournament gets 1,000 pounds, Greaves seems to need to win at least two tournaments to have a chance of knocking Sherrock off the second spot.
