Hard work paying off for Huybrechts after stunning win over Zhuang: 'I don't think I've worked so hard on darts'

Kim Huybrechts is through to the second round at the PDC World Darts Championship after a stunning display over Di Zhuang, the Chinese qualifier.

It was a 104 average for Huybrechts as he sent out a statement and he admitted afterwards that despite the win, it was difficult as he wanted a tougher test to begin the tournament.

"I'm happy with the performance but it's a difficult one to analyse because the opponent wasn't really a top standard class player here, didn't get the challenge I maybe wanted from the first round but all respect to him, he qualified from China,"

"It's always difficult when you play somebody you've never heard of. I think Mike de Decker is a good example as well, he played a Japanese guy we'd never heard of but he played brilliant. So I wasn't going to underestimate him. After the first set, I relaxed and I was thinking if you just play your good B game, you'll be alright."

"I don't think I've worked so hard on darts than I've ever done in the last couple of months. I've worked maybe 6-8 hours a day, normally I'd just practice and just throw darts at a board and now I was focusing and playing games. So I don't think I've been more ready."
