Luke Humphries has concluded the Quarter-Final line-up for the Grand Slam of Darts and will face Michael van Gerwen on Saturday evening in another top class battle that could catch light like the latter's clash with Josh Rock earlier this evening.

Humphries saw off the recent European Champion, Ross Smith in a 10-8 win for 'Cool Hand Luke' with a 96 average, three 180's despite missing 20 darts at a double throughout the contest. This in comparison though to 26 from Smith despite 10 180's.
To start the tie, Smith took out 89 on the bull for the opening leg but Humphries took a slender lead into the interval of 3-2 with an 11-darter to do so.
Smith's missed darts at doubles started to creep in and despite hitting seven perfect darts, he missed nine at double allowing Humphries to move 5-2 ahead.
Humphries continued to build the lead going 7-4 up from there with a 72 checkout to break. It was another for Humphries as he went 8-5 up after five missed darts at doubles.
But Smith asked the question with back to back legs and went 9-8 behind but Humphries sealed the win in the end to avert a last leg decider.
