"I didn't expect that I would still be so low at this point" - Van Trijp disappointed with his first year on the PDC Tour

Danny van Trijp won himself a PDC Tour Card earlier this year. However, his during 2023 so far, he's not been that successful.

Van Trijp is currently 148th in the world rankings. "I didn't expect that I would still be so low at this point, which is quite a disappointment," the 26-year-old Dutchman told Darts Actueel. "My averages have gone up from last year, however, I lost a lot of matches 6-5. It's all just a little bit off."

Van Trijp is therefore realistic. "Keeping my Tour Card at the end of next year will be difficult. On the other hand, that doesn't have to be a disaster. Sometimes it is better to go down on your face for a while and then come back stronger. And even without a Tour Card, there are many opportunities to play tournaments these days. For example, the Modus Super Series is a great initiative."
