Gabriel Clemens took down Alan Soutar in a superb win for 'The German Giant' who breaks new ground at the PDC
World Darts Championship.
Clemens has become the first German to reach the Quarter-Finals and said previously he had other expectations which have now been smashed.
"It's amazing, normally I'm happy when I can play after Christmas at the Ally Pally now I play after New Year and that's a good feeling. It's a big thing for me and now I'm in the Quarter-Finals, that's good," he said post match.
He hopes now also to inspire the next generation. "I hope more young players go to darts, we have a good juniors in darts and more people play darts."
Next up is Gerwyn Price and he believes he can test him despite not being under any illusion who is the favourite.
"I think he is the favourite but I have three good games on the stage and we will see. I will give him a good game and take my chance."
