Jonny Clayton has qualified for the third round at the
World Darts Championship. The 49-year-old Welshman did not play a great match against Steve Lennon, but still pulled off a 3-1 win in sets.
A particularly large number of doubles were missed in this match. Together Clayton and Lennon left as many as 62 doubles missed in seventeen legs. In the end Clayton proved more effective than his Irish opponent.
Key point in the match was the fifth leg of the third set. Lennon missed six chances to win the set 3-2 to take a 2-1 lead. In the end, Clayton walked away with the spoils.
Also in the first leg of the fourth set Lennon missed many opportunities. Again Clayton hit the double, after which 'The Ferret' won the fourth set 3-0 via a 20-darter and a 14-darter for a place in the next round.
