Ahead of competing in the World Cup of Darts next week, there was a welcome boost for
Adam Gawlas.
The Czech ace saw off fellow Tour Card holder, Dylan Slevin 5-4 in the final of PDC
Development Tour 15. It is a first title for Gawlas on the PDC Tour.
En route, he saw off Jurjen van der Velde, David Schlichting, Jacob Gwynne and Jack Male among others in the latter stages. He joins Gian van Veen, Bradley Brooks, Wessel Nijman and Jarred Cole in sealing titles this weekend.
Van Veen in particular leads the race to the World Championship with Luke Littler staying narrowly behind ahead of Wessel Nijman with that duo set to do battle for the Tour Cards and second World Championship spot.
The PDC Development Tour is considered the breeding ground of the PDC. Talented players have the opportunity to further develop their gift on this circuit. Players may enter as soon as they reach the age of 16. They may then compete up to and including the season in which they turn 24.
Prize money breakdown during PDC Development Tour
Prize money of £15,000 is distributed per tournament, so the prize pool for the entire circuit of a total of 24 tournaments consists of £360,000.
From reaching the last 64, players can earn prize money, starting with £75. That amount then increases with each round. The winner collects a handsome £2,500.
