Noppert disappointed after World Matchplay elimination: "I am just sorry that I played badly. I wanted it so bad"

After an excellent win over Gerwyn Price, Danny Noppert lost out to Adrian Lewis in the second round of the World Matchplay.

The level he reached against Price did not come against Lewis who now faces off against Dimitri van den Bergh in the Quarter-Finals.

"My first dart was all the time under the treble 20. Then I go under the triple 19. And then I hit the eighteen. I'm just sorry; but it's no different," said Noppert to RTL7.

Noppert was not bothered by the shows of emotion from Lewis. "No definitely not. I didn't care. I am just sorry that I played badly myself. I wanted it so bad; but it is not easy now."
