Raymond van Barneveld was no match for Luke Littler in the fourth round of the World Darts Championship on Saturday night. 'Barney' certainly did not play badly, but was outclassed 4-1 by the 16-year-old super talent.
Van Barneveld could also do nothing but give credit to his opponent after the match. ''It looks like you are throwing against a darts robot. There was absolutely no honor in this,'' the 56-year-old said for Viaplay.
The five-time world champion also realized he had delivered a fine match with an average of 99.61. ''I didn't throw that bad at all, but this is not normal. Incredible.''
Van Barneveld then did not want to concern himself with the question of who can still defeat Littler at the World Darts Championship. ''I don't give a damn about that. This is a hard one for me. I saw chances, especially after Gary's elimination against Brendan, but it's over for me. Tonight I have to take on this young kid and I wish him the best of luck.''
