Four titles for Dave Chisnall so far this year and all of them have come with victory over Luke Humphries who must be sick of the sight of the St Helens ace who sealed Players Championship 23 on Thursday evening.

Chisnall hit nine 180's and a 105 average in an 8-3 win, only days after one of the best European Tour finals of all time and technically back-to-back titles after skipping yesterday. It is a first ProTour of the season also for the top seed who has done all his damage on the European Tour so far.

Chisnall romped into a 3-0 lead pinning double five last dart in hand to deny Humphries an opportunity to get on the board. He went five darts into a perfect leg and set up 36 in case Humphries couldn’t pin 76 which he couldn’t.

Chisnall returned as a result to go halfway to the win on double 18 at 4-0 again last dart in hand. He missed 87 on the bull to go 5-0 up and Humphries erased one of the breaks at 4-1 down.

Two double 18’s on 93 saw Chisnall take that break swiftly back at 5-1. Chisnall chased around the board but hit double one to make it 6-1.

A 77 checkout saw Humphries sneak a second leg at 6-2. He missed a second double 19 for 94 after two 180’s and again Chisnall picked his pocket last dart on double nine at 7-2.

He missed 83 for the match and Humphries hit 106 to stay in it albeit only a hold of throw. Chisnall though went up to nine 180’s only to miss match darts before he finally sealed the deal.
