Ryan Searle is through to the Third Round at the 2020/21 PDC World Darts Championship after defeating Jeffrey de Zwaan in straight sets.
A match which saw a brilliant display of scoring from De Zwaan with nine 180's but he only won four legs. Despite that though, Searle admitted he didn't feel great even in victory.
"I felt flat, I don't know if I'm doing myself a bit of an injustice there but I just didn't feel that great. I took my chances when I got them, I felt my scoring wasn't there at all tonight unlike the last game," said Searle post match.
"When people are playing well you've got to ignore that because if you let that get to you then you can sort of get yourself down."
"That 78 when it hit the flight and snuck it's way into tops, I nearly threw up in my mouth, it was that disgusting. That's maybe the bit of luck I've been missing in the past few months."
With Michael van Gerwen and other players unable to leave the country for Christmas and travel restrictions being heightened, Searle is still set to travel home admitting it was never a consideration to stay in London.
"It's so nice being able to go home now and chill out. I'll probably have just a half an hour throw on the board tomorrow, not nothing too much. I'd never stay in the bubble, I couldn't imagine missing Christmas with my kids. It's always a risk going home and picking up the virus."
