Searle reaches first PDC major final with victory over Dolan at Players Championship Finals

Ryan Searle's brilliant rise continues as he becomes the first player through to the final of the 2021 Players Championship Finals and reaches his first major final as a result.

Searle produced a brilliant win over Brendan Dolan sealing it 11-6 with three 180's and a high checkout of 120 en route from 'Heavy Metal' and he will face either Jonny Clayton or Peter Wright later.

The opening five legs went with throw with Searle having a narrow lead over Dolan who went on to miss double 12 for a nine-darter before a dramatic passage of play which saw him go 180, 177 in the next leg before squandering darts at doubles which allowed Searle to make it 4-4.

He followed that up with 96 using double 18, double 20 to make it 5-4 and after the break, Searle hit the gas again with an 11-darter and when Dolan missed a dart at double 20, he was there to break and make it 7-5.

It was Dolan doing all the scoring but Searle continued to finish consolidating the break before completing the feat again with a 120 checkout to go 9-5 up.

Dolan was let off the hook though after four missed darts at double from Searle just before the interval but this proved to be a momentary blip as he returned to break again and claim it on double four 11-6.
