Second tournament win of the season for Jim Long on CDC Tour; battle for spot at World Darts Championship is wide open again

Jim Long won the tenth tournament of the CDC season on Saturday night. This kept the Canadian darter in the race for participation in the World Darts Championship.

The best American darter and best Canadian player on the CDC circuit get to compete in the World Darts Championship in December. Cameron had a comfortable lead over his Canadian compatriots prior to this tournament weekend, but Long has significantly reduced his deficit.

Long successively defeated Chris Caldwell (5-1), James Solek (5-4), Jeff Springer (6-3), Jake Macmillan (6-2), Gary Mawson (7-4) and Jacob Taylor (7-3) to crown himself the winner of the tenth event of the season.

With four tournaments remaining, Long is still the second Canadian on the CDC Tour Order of Merit with 74 points. Leading the list is David Cameron, who is on 79 points.

For now, Leonard Gates is the highest-ranked American with 93 points. Stowe Buntz is his biggest competitor with 70 points, while Alex Spellman (57 points) and Gary Mawson (56 points) are still behind.
