"Sending me and them death threats goes too far" - Sponsor of Dimitri Van den Bergh and Callan Rydz raises the alarm

Sponsors are indispensable for darters. Recently, Dimitri Van den Bergh and Callan Rydz have been sponsored by DartsHub. The company can be seen on the back of Van den Bergh and Rydz's shirts and are known in the darts world as one of the best video compilers around.

However, Belgian Yentl's company is now sounding the alarm after a variety of threats were made online. "This is not something I ever thought I would share, but it's an important message that needs to be shared," it sounds on Instagram. "Ever since I announced my sponsorship of Dimitri and Callan, I've been getting a lot of hate messages. Sometimes that includes death threats. I understand that not everyone can be a fan of the players, but messages like 'I'm going to kill you if you don't stop this' really go too far."

"Sponsoring them was one of my dreams and I want to thank them for that opportunity. I have already met them too and they are really friendly people. Sending me and them death threats is about it. We all have families too, so think twice before sending something like that. Hopefully this message will have a positive impact. In any case, I'm not going to quit."

Earlier, Evi, Van den Bergh's girlfriend, also raised the alarm. "Dimitri gets threats lol," she told Het Nieuwsblad. "That his family may get cancer or his family may die. That's about it and that just because they lost a bet."
