Sherrock firmly in third spot of PDC Women's Series Order of Merit after penultimate tournament weekend, Suzuki almost certain of World Darts Championships appearance

Fallon Sherrock has moved closer to a return to the World Darts Championship. The woman who made history during the 2020 edition with surprise wins over Ted Evetts and Mensur Suljovic won the final tournament of the weekend on Sunday night.

As a result, the "Queen of the Palace" solidified her third place on the Women's Series Order of Merit. Sherrock has a 2150-pound lead over number four Lisa Ashton, who has four more tournaments to overtake Sherrock and possibly Mikuru Suzuki.

The number one of the rankings qualifies for the Grand Slam of Darts and the World Darts Championship, while the number two also receives an invitation to participate at Alexandra Palace.

Because Greaves has already qualified for these two tournaments with her final victory at the Women's World Matchplay, the Grand Slam ticket shifts to the number two. The vacant World Darts Championship starting ticket goes to the number three on the PDC Women's Series Order of Merit.

With Suzuki comfortably in second place, with a 4350-pound margin to number four Lisa Ashton, there is a good chance the Japanese will return to the World Darts Championship in December. Suzuki previously competed at the 2020 edition at Alexandra Palace. The battle for the final spot for the World Darts Championship thus appears to be between Sherrock and Ashton.
