Fallon Sherrock sealed the inaugural PDC Women's World Matchplay last weekend and caught up with the Love the Darts podcast hosted by Emma Paton for Sky Sports in the aftermath.
"I was a bit nervous. Of course it was the first Women's comp that was run there but I was really happy that I got to play on the iconic stage and become overall winner," said Sherrock on the Love the Darts podcast.
As usual, the hype was behind the Queen of the Palace but she didn't do any media barring with the PDC pre tournament and she believes this helped to take the pressure off.
"I didn't do any media which probably helped because I was more relaxed going into it. I wasn't really feeling the pressure as much so that probably helped."
A pressure which she hopes is lifted and that she admits is starting to lift after this title win.
"There's pressure behind it because I'm still playing on the big stage. Everyone expects me to win but I think I spoke to Corrine (Hammond) after and she was like I picked you to win and I was like oh no you put more pressure on me. I'm dealing better now with the pressure than what I was before and hopefully now there isn't as much stress behind it."
