With the European Darts Matchplay coming up this weekend, we take back at an important moment which took place in last year's tournament involving Michael van Gerwen.
2013 before last year was the last time a nine dart finish was hit on the European Tour by Ross Smith at the Gibraltar Darts Trophy. This was turned into a curse which when the Deal ace returned to the Tour fully he embraced.
Dan Dawson in particular on commentary made reference to this whenever someone was on the nine-dart finish that it was never going to happen but at the European Darts Matchplay last year it did.
After 5 years and 1 day, Van Gerwen sealed perfection to send the crowd into raptures, could it happen again this weekend?
