Van Barneveld no fan of Wright's on-stage persona: "That has nothing to do with darts anymore"

Peter Wright is known for always taking the stage in all sorts of crazy costumes. But Raymond van Barneveld is not such a fan of that.

In the past, Wright even came on stage dressed as Father Christmas. "Those crazy costumes are one thing, but dressing up as Father Christmas, sorry, that has nothing to do with darts any more," Van Barneveld told Viaplay.

Van Barneveld also wants to guard the image of the sport. "I have tried for years to put darts on the map, to attract good sponsors and I also like it when people talk positively about your sport. But this way, main sponsors pull out, after all, they don't want to be associated with that."
