Vincent van der Voort will take on Glen Durrant in the Quarter-Finals of the World Matchplay on Friday evening after a brilliant run so far in Milton Keynes.
Van der Voort has seen off both
Dave Chisnall and
Daryl Gurney and will now take on the Premier League leader who has defeated
Jeffrey de Zwaan and
Peter Wright. It is a game the Dutch Destroyer expects to be difficult.
“I actually play another top 10 player as such with Durrant, because he is already among the big names within his first two years. He will again be a tough opponent, because he also just beat the World Champion," the former UK Open finalist said to De Telegraaf.
Nevertheless, for Van der Voort, he admits he won't get anything back in terms of energy with Durrant due to his style of play. “I have to prepare myself well and play well, then I can make it difficult for everyone. With Durrant, he is a bit like a computer game. He does everything the same all the time. You don't get much energy from him, you have to do it yourself. ”
"At least I am not the favourite again. We are going to see if I can play well three games in a row, because I sometimes have a game between that where the level isn't as high. Lets see if we can postpone the latter for as long as possible."
